Statistics are an essential skill for UC ANR researchers. But like a lot of technical skills, it’s easy to get rusty or fall behind the latest techniques and tools of the trade.
This 7-part workshop series is designed to refresh and update statistical skills for CE Advisors and other UC ANR researchers. Topics will include:
* the theory and application of basic statistical tests, including ANOVA, GLMs, mixed models, and regression
* what to do when the normal assumptions for statistical tests have not been met
* newish methods like mixed models and bootstrapping which take advantage of modern computing power which may not have been available when you took that undergraduate stats class 25 years ago
* what you need to know when designing experiments and planning data collection
* how to use the extremely popular and powerful statistical programming language R
Everyone can learn something new.
