I hope you find this email well. Please forward this to your department
faculty.



EH&S will be closed during the holiday closure (December 23, 2022 to
January 2, 2023) and many of our services will not be available. Below are
a few important dates to consider before the holiday closure.



   - *Hazardous waste* - Hazardous waste will not be picked up during this
   time. If your labs have hazardous waste that may pose a significant safety
   concern during the holiday closure, please notify EH&S at
   radiobiowastepickup at ucr.edu by * Friday, December 16, 2022*.
   - *Controlled Substances* – please note the following to ensure
   successful delivery of materials
      - List 1 and Precursors – if you order now, they will arrive in
      January 2023
      - Schedule II – wait until January 2023 to submit order
      - Schedule III-IV – submit order by *Friday, December 16, 2022*
   - *RAM Packages* – Submit order by *Friday, December 16, 2022*.



If lab members plan on working through the holiday closure, now is a good
time to review your lab practices and have plans in place for working
safely with reduced staff on site. Attached you will find November’s 12
Month of Research Safety Topic “Working Alone in a Research Laboratory”.

If there is an incident or emergency in your lab during the closure, call
UCR Police and Campus Safety at (951) 827-5222 (cell phone), or 9-1-1
(landline). UCPD will contact EH&S if EH&S support is necessary.
