Effective tomorrow, access to the Entomology business office will be
restricted to only those individuals with keys and with a need to be in the
office. This includes access to copy and fax machines, mail boxes, and
physical access to people. All doors to the business office will be locked
24/7. If you do not have a key, access to the business office will be via
the glass doors looking out onto the courtyard. Knock gently. If you are
not recognized by the staff, you will not be allowed entry. If you are
unknown to the staff and need access, you will need to have your supervisor
call down and let Gian/Robin/Bill/Cherie to let you in via the glass doors.
Deliveries will continue pretty much normally. Staff have been instructed
to not let anybody in that is unfamiliar to them and to certainly not let
groups of unknown individuals into the office. Please respect that. For
those of you with a key, please respect the responsibility that comes with
the key. This policy will remain in effect until the strike is over.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but strikers have now begun to seriously
disrupt and threaten campus academic business offices and associated
staff. This is the only way I can see to keep things running smoothly for
the time being.
