All-

In case you were not aware, batteries are considered hazardous waste in California. This includes AAA, AA, C, D button cell, 9-volt, and all other batteries, both rechargeable and single use. As such, batteries need to be disposed of through hazardous waste disposal facilities and not placed in the standard trash. The good news: campus provides proper disposal at no charge. There is now a recycle bin for batteries in the receiving room of the admin suite. Please dispose of your batteries in the labeled receptacle and the admin team will ensure they are disposed of appropriately.

If you want more information on battery disposal, you can check out the CalRecycle website<https://calrecycle.ca.gov/reducewaste/batteries/>.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
