I just want to make sure you all get this. If you work with "stingers" or
supervise those that do, you need to do this. This is the first step in
getting a Rx for an epipen for those who do not regularly carry one. The
cost of the course should be covered by PI funds wherever possible. Right
now Entomology is being given priority to register for the limited spots.
It opens up to everyone tomorrow. Jump on this now if you need an epipen.

Subject: Wilderness First Aid - CPR - EpiPen Training: REGISTRATION LINKS
To:
Dear Department of Entomology,
I am writing to let you know that we are bringing Wilderness First Aid –
CPR – EpiPen training to the campus again this quarter. This is an 8-hour
course that will fulfil certifications for First Aid, CPR, and EpiPen
training, which are all required for labs interested in acquiring an EpiPen
for their first aid kits in accordance with California Section 1797.197a.
There are two opportunities to participate for this course (18th October
and 25th October), but there are only 10 spaces in each day so slots may
fill up quickly.
The cost of the course is $120, but the UC Centre of Excellence for Field
Safety will be covering 50% of the cost for each participant, which will
bring the cost down to $60.
This course will take place in the Lyceum Room of the EH&S Building and
will have both indoor and outdoor portions. There is enough room in the
Lyceum to spread out, but please remember that UCR Policy requires
appropriate face coverings inside our buildings at all times. All
participants must also complete the *UCR Wellness Survey
<https://campusreturn.ucr.edu/wellness-check>* on the day before coming
onto campus.
Lunch will not be provided so each person will need to plan accordingly.
Below are the registration links for each day. Note that I have currently
only provided these registration links to the Department of Entomology as a
priority for 2 days, but I will be opening up registration to the rest of
campus on Wednesday.
*Registration for Training on the 18th October 2021
