Hello everyone,

We were informed by UCOP-APP that as of September 16, 2021, the time in which to use Emergency Paid Sick Leave (EPSL) was extended through June 30, 2022.

As a reminder, EPSL is provided as part of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).  FFCRA requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19.

The EPSL Request Form<https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/forms/pdf/2021-epsl-notice-and-request-form.pdf> must be completed by the academic appointee and submitted to their dean for review and final decision.  Please refer to Vice Provost Jeske's memo<https://academicpersonnel.ucr.edu/sites/g/files/rcwecm1261/files/2021-04/Memo%20from%20VPAP-COVID-19%20Leaves-FINAL-4.1.21.pdf> dated April 1, 2021 for delegation of authority  It is the department's responsibility to track, to record the leave, and to update the payroll system.
