[Entm-researchstaff] Voluntary social events (Sept 3 and 15)

The following message forwarded on behalf of Dr. Quinn McFrederick.

Dear ENTM colleagues,
We have just received approval (i.e. alcohol permits) for a First Friday social in the Entomology courtyard this coming Friday Sept 3 starting at 4 PM. This will be a BYO beverage and snacks event, and is of course completely voluntary. If you are around and looking forward to some social interactions then please come. Feel free to send this to anyone that I am missing (but if they will be drinking EtOH they of course need to be 21+).

We will also be holding a voluntary picnic on student seminar day (September 15, 4-7 PM) at the picnic area at Ag Ops. The department will provide food (details to come, we have to figure that out quickly!), and I will collect the customary $20 from faculty to create an EtOH social fund.

Given the tough times lately, it feels important for us to build community. That said, there is no pressure to come to these events if you feel uncomfortable for any reason. But if you can make it, I will look forward to seeing you there.
