Good morning, Teresa. Would you please share the following with the CEDA
members?  We’re extending the deadline for our new career advancement
program by two weeks. If you’ve not yet heard of it, this is a competitive
application program for people who are looking to get some training on how
to build their careers. We’re hopeful that the department administrator
members of CEDA would share the program with their departments. This is a
brand new program for us (first year) and we’re still trying to build
awareness of it. It really is an amazing opportunity and I’m a little
surprised that we have not yet been deluged with applications. Details,
links, etc. below. Erin Cadwalader (cc:ed) is spearheading the program.

We have decided to extend the deadline for the ESA Professional Advancement
Career Training (PACT)

Initiative by two weeks to *Sunday, June 6* because we received a couple of
requests from individuals still trying to secure the required letter from
their advisors/supervisors.  However, we have received fewer applications
so far than we had hoped for and assume some of this is just due to the
nature of this unusual year.



I am writing today to ask that you haven’t already done so, * please ask
faculty in your departments to encourage their students and postdocs,
particularly those interested in jobs outside of academia, to apply

as other institutions, learn what soft and leadership skills are required
to be successful in whatever career they choose to pursue, and give them
the tools to continue on that lifelong journey of growth.  ESA is offering
this opportunity to our members to help support their success in their
future endeavors with the hope that they will find future careers that will
keep them connected to the entomological community.
