[Entm-researchstaff] Field Safety Plans- send to EHS

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to clarify a point that has come up regarding Field Safety Plan approvals.

If you have already submitted your plan to EHS, you DO NOT need to resubmit it at this time. They will contact you if they have any questions regarding an already submitted plan.

ONLY new plans, or plans that you implemented but never sent to EHS, will need to be sent to them under this new guidance.

Hello PI's and lab managers,

Due to a recent field incident within our department, EHS is requesting that all Field Safety Plans need to first be reviewed by EHS.

This is a new process and EHS is working out the kinks.

Typically plans were generated by a PI/lab then later submitted to EHS. They are now requesting to review them BEFORE you implement them.

Understandably many plans are already in effect. That is fine. Continue working as normal.

Please though, at your earliest convenience, send an electronic copy of all your Field Safety Plans to:

ehslaboratory at ucr.edu

Since this is a general email for EHS it may be best to use the following subject line in your email (or something similar)

Subject line:   Field Safety Plan for review- Entomology Dept- (name of your lab)
