Dear Colleagues,

I’m excited to share an exciting postdoc opportunity to study integrative
insect behavior.

Hojun Song, Greg Sword and I are part of a team (representing 7
institutions) that was recently awarded an NSF Biological Integration
Institute (BII) grant. Our Behavioral Plasticity Research Institute (BPRI)
is one of four inaugural BII institutes and we officially started November
1. The broad goal of our institute is to transform the way phenotypic
plasticity is studied through complete biological integration. The BPRI
brings together a team of experts in genomics, genome editing, functional
genetics, epigenetics, neurobiology, nutritional physiology, environmental
physiology, ecology, ethology, evolutionary biology phylogenetics, and
sustainability science to collectively investigate locust phase polyphenism
– one of the most striking cases of coordinated phenotypic plasticity.

Hojun, Greg, and I are currently advertising a 5-year postdoc position that
will be based at Texas A&M University. The postdoc will focus on a research
project that integrates physiology, collective behavior, and evolution to
identify and understand the mechanisms underlying locust phase change,
including at the molecular level. The postdoc will be affiliated with each
our our labs, and will assist in the training of 4 PhD students.

More information related to the BPRI and this position can be found at:
https://behavioralplasticity.org

Potential applicants can contact Hojun (hsong at tamu.edu), Greg (
gasword at tamu.edu) or myself (s-behmer at tamu.edu) for additional details and
questions.

Thanks in advance for your help spreading the word and sharing this advert!

Best,

Spence
