Dear colleagues:
I am the chair of the Biology department at the University of Redlands.  We
need an adjunct to teach Conservation Biology in the spring semester, and I
wondered if you might know of any interested candidates. We can consider an
applicant's preference to teach online vs. in person (it is unclear at this
point whether we will reopen the campus to in-person courses in spring).
The course may be lecture-only ($4,500 for the semester), or may include a
lab as well (an additional $4,500).  The class is capped at 16 students.
Current graduate students and post-docs are welcome to apply, particularly
if they are interested in a career in teaching.  Applicants should send a
cover letter, current vitae, and contact information for two references to
lisa_olson at redlands.edu. In the cover letter, candidates who apply should
identify their strengths and experience in assisting diverse student
populations. If available, please include evidence of previous effective
teaching and/or ideas for teaching courses online.  We aim to fill the
position in the next month.
