Hello Everyone,

Many, if not all academics, have been informed of the proposed expansion of the curtailment program. There are many pieces of information floating around and staff have to do a bit more research to fully understand the proposal. We have not received this information directly.

In hopes of keeping everyone equally informed, please click on the second story below. From all of the information I have read and gathered, the attachment is the most comprehensive so far. The potential “savings” by fund source is interesting and do take note of the word “minimum” as it relates to the number of curtailment days. Curtailment is typically referred to the time the university closes between the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. While this proposal isn’t being labeled a furlough, it most definitely is one for those needing to take unpaid time off.

Still, we are fortunate there will be no impact to our retirement earnings due to unpaid hours. And, I am personally grateful to still be employed!
