[Entm-researchstaff] Perishable Package Ordering and Receiving

Hello Everyone,

With the ramp up of research campus receiving has sustained a large influx of orders. They are working with a reduced staff and on a rotating schedule due to COVID and having to adhere to social distancing. We have tried to work out a plan to deliver perishable items to the department but it is not working out. Between Robin and myself working reduced hours and days the building being locked down we are experiencing many delivery issues and perishables are the brunt of the problem. Many people are running around trying to hunt down their items, deliveries are getting miss delivered or some are getting lost among the vast number of packages they are receiving daily. Plus many times the labs are not available to retrieve the packages while Robin and I are on campus which just adds another factor to the equation.

Until such time we can receive packages directly to the department we do not see a safe fix outside of people having to go directly to the dock to retrieve these packages.
Moving forward if you are ordering a perishable item it will have to be picked up at the dock. They will no longer try and bring them out to us. If possible we can look into drop shipping it to another location off campus where you can receive it directly. Unfortunately the perishable items are the most expensive and the cost of these problematic delivers is taking a toll.
