[Entm-researchstaff] Update on Inclusivity Scholarship Fund

Hi All,
I just  wanted to  give you an update on our growing Entomology Inclusivity
Scholarship fund  drive.  By my estimates of yesterday evening, there is
now ~$19-20K in the fund.  Additionally, demonstrating an understanding of
the importance of our efforts, an  anonymous donor has pledged $50,000 as
part of an estate trust.  I want to personally, thank all of you who have
already contributed!  We are hopeful that these  initial contributions from
just the Department will only attract additional funds to increase the
level of support we can provide.  We are truly putting our collective money
where our mouths are when it comes to  attempting to address the problem
of  inequality to a university-level research experience!

For those of you who are only now learning of this drive to establish an
endowment to support undergraduates who would normally be precluded from
working in a Entomology lab due to social and cultural constraints, or for
those of you who wish to, but have not contributed but wish too, I

I now have a follow-up favor to ask.  Spread the word!  I do not know all
of the people that you know who might be interested in supporting this
effort.  If you know of individuals who may be inclined to contribute,
please  feel  free to contact them directly and provide them the above
link.  If they have questions about the fund, do not  hesitate to point
them in either my or Hollis Woodard's direction.
