CEDA Colleagues:
I am excited to share that MSU Entomology is officially accepting
applications for the second Tatter Family Entomology Graduate Fellow
(TFEGF)! Prospective Entomology MS and PhD students are encouraged to apply!
Please share the attached flyers with students in your department and
direct them to our program website
<https://www.canr.msu.edu/ent/graduate/Tatter-Fellowship/index> for
detailed application information.
Below are some FAQs that may also be helpful for prospective applicants.
*Who is eligible for the TFEGF?*
New applicants to MSU Entomology interested in pursuing a graduate degree,
MS or PhD. Students must have a confirmed MSU Entomology faculty
<https://www.canr.msu.edu/ent/directory/our-faculty> mentor and indicate
who this will be on their application.
*How do students apply?*
Students will apply through the MSU Graduate School. The format for their
Academic and Personal Statements and other application details are
described at the program website
<https://msu-prod.dotcmscloud.com/ent/graduate/Tatter-Fellowship/application-process>
.
*How many fellowships will be awarded?*
MSU Entomology will fund one TFEGF annually.
*How will applicants be evaluated?*
We will consider applicant academic preparation, experience, entomological
interest, and future career goals. Proposed Research statements will be
evaluated for feasibility, significance, and fit with the proposed faculty
mentor's area of expertise.
*Are there other opportunities that applicants to MSU Entomology can be
considered for?*
Yes! We have set the submission and review timeline for the TFEGF to allow
us to nominate strong applicants for other MSU Fellowship Programs for
which they may be eligible. We will notify applicants if they are being
considered for other fellowships.
Please let me know if there are other questions I can answer, and thank for
helping us spread the word about this opportunity!
