Hello everyone!

The Insect Fair planning has actively begun! The event will happen on
*Saturday,* *April 25, 2026, at the Riverside Main Library parking lot, *from
10:00-4:00.

Our department will have booths reserved for the event that can be for the
entomology department labs and student organizations. *The maximum number
available is 10* for UCR research labs. Your lab can reserve a full booth
or create a multilab one by sharing it with other labs. Please *use this
spreadsheet to sign up

for a booth. The icon insect column is where you mention an insect that
will be turned into a tiny cartoonish identifier for your booth. The
deadline is Friday, February 6th, but usually, there are no more spots left
after a couple of days, so don't wait till they are all gone!

The layout of the booths will be the same as last year's, with 4 tables
arranged in a square and a 10x10-foot tent over them. Unfortunately, the
organizers will not be able to provide tablecloths this year, so you need
to bring your own if you want to have them. The scavenger hunt will happen
again this year, so I will reach out to signed up booth representatives
with details on what information to provide for it.

If you sign up for a booth, *you are required to show up at your booth, and
someone must be present during the entire event*. Plan to arrive and set up
before the event, and pack up your stuff after the event has ended. Empty
booths due to no-shows are a wasted opportunity for sharing science with
our community, and could have been allocated to someone who would have
wanted to show up. If you sign up for a booth and do not show up, it may
also affect your ability to sign up for booths in future years.

Let me know if you have any questions about the event or booths!

All the best,
Veronica.
