Subject: Summer research and extension opportunity for undergraduate
students
To: Houston Wilson <houston.wilson at ucr.edu>

Hello,

I'm excited to share that Colorado State University's Department of
Agricultural Biology is now accepting applications for the *Summer 2026
Research and Extension Experience for Undergraduates (REEU)*. This
eight-week program will run from *June 1 to July 24, 2026* and will be a
great opportunity for students who want hands-on experience in applied
agricultural research or extension.

Participants will receive *housing and meals, a $5,500 stipend, and travel
reimbursement* for coming to Fort Collins. Once accepted, each student will
be paired with a faculty mentor whose research aligns with their interests.
Throughout the summer, students will work on research or extension projects
in areas such as entomology, plant pathology, weed science, or molecular
biology, and will present their work at the end of the program.

To apply, students will need to submit:

   - A completed application form
   <https://colostate-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/aszczep_colostate_edu/IQCg1WEAtgYzTJuhhC6lnxKNAfs2sTnFyLXX1nWdvxjxDgY?e=ZJecg3>,
including statements about their background and research interests
   - A copy of current transcripts
   - Two letters of recommendation

All materials should be compiled into one PDF and emailed to me, Kadie
Britt (kadie.britt at colostate.edu), by *April 3, 2026*. Full program
details, including the application form
<https://colostate-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/aszczep_colostate_edu/IQCg1WEAtgYzTJuhhC6lnxKNAfs2sTnFyLXX1nWdvxjxDgY?e=ZJecg3>,
are available on our website
<https://agsci.colostate.edu/agbio/ipm/reeu-information/>.

If you're curious about research, considering a career in agricultural or
biological sciences, or looking for a meaningful summer experience, please
take a look and consider submitting an application!
