Dear Chairs and Lead Faculty Advisors,



I am writing to let you know about new additions to the course catalog
under the Genetics and Biotechnology (GNBT) subject code. These courses are
currently listed under the Botany and Plant Sciences section of the course
catalog pending approval of the GNBT major by the Senate. Three courses
(highlighted) will be offered starting this academic year.



GNBT 010 Genetics and Society (Winter 2025)

GNBT 110 Advanced Genetics (Spring 2025)

GNBT 114 Molecular Genetics Laboratory (Spring 2026)

GNBT 120 Analysis of Genomes (Winter 2025)

GNBT 130 Genomes: Structure and Evolution (Winter 2026)



GNBT 100 Biotechnology is pending approval and is planned to be offered in
Fall 2025.



I respectfully request that you consider adding relevant GNBT courses as
electives for your undergraduate major. I have included a copy of the
course descriptions from the catalog below. I will be happy to send you
syllabi upon request.
