*Attention CNAS/BCOE Faculty and Staff,*



The *NIH-funded* *MARC Research Training Program @ UCR *are looking for
more qualified applicants and need your help. If you have excellent
undergraduate students that are interested in pursuing a career in research
AND may benefit from a *PAID (year-round stipend of $1160/month)* research
training program, please share/forward this message. The deadline is
quickly approaching [applications due 4/7].



*WHAT IS MARC?*



The* NIH MARC (Maximizing Access to Research Careers) program* is a
research training program that aims to increase the number of
underrepresented individuals in biomedical research by providing them with
training and mentoring opportunities. The program supports undergraduate
students and faculty members from institutions with a significant number of
underrepresented students (like UCR). MARC scholars participate in
year-round research experiences, attend scientific meetings, receive
professional development training, and benefit from personalized mentoring.
The ultimate goal of the program is to prepare MARC scholars to (1) enter a
PhD program post UCR (2) pursue careers in biomedical research and (3)
become leaders in the field.



*WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?*



MARC is looking for *current* *UCR students *to enter our *PAID* 2-3 year,
NIH funded, research training program beginning Summer/Fall 2024 here,
in-person, at UCR.

*PROGRAM BENEFITS*

   - MARC *is a nationally recognized and prestigious NIH program
   [available here at UCR]*
   - MARC *provides year-round stipends of ~ $1150 per month while in the

   for travel and miscellaneous research related activities i.e., conferences,
   summer research programs, poster printing, GRE exam, airfare, lodging...*
