Dear UC Riverside Community,



The University of California Natural Reserve System (UCNRS) is excited to
announce the 2025 UCNRS Field Science Fellowship, a unique opportunity for
undergraduates to gain hands-on research experience at some of California’s
most iconic natural areas. Please distribute this email widely and share it
with students and faculty who may be interested.



Benefits:

   - *Financial support:* The $6,000 award provides a $5,000 undergraduate
   stipend and $1,000 to cover project costs.
   - *Hands-on experience:* Conduct field-based research at UCNRS reserves
   under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Students must commit 40 hours a
   week for 8 weeks during the summer.
   - *Career advancement:* Fain valuable hands-on research experience
   performing full-time research over the summer

Funding for the UCNRS Field Science Fellowships comes from the Samuelsen
Conservation Scholars Initiative

the first director of the UCNRS. This fellowship aims to enhance the
participation of UC undergraduates from underrepresented backgrounds in
environmental sciences, including low-income and first-generation college
students.
