Hi ENTM undergrads!

Did you know that if you volunteer for our UCR Entomology outreach events that you can earn outreach hours? If you get 30 hours, you can earn travel funds that are helpful for atteding events like conferences. (For more information on that specifically, it is best to direct your questions to Dr. Weirauch (CC'd)).

Here are some events coming up this month! If you would like to volunteer, please sign up using the Google sheet attached to this email below

1. March 6th 8:20am-2:30pm @ Central Middle School (best if taken in shifts)
- 20 mins presentation, 25 mins insect interacting
- shift times available: 8:30-9:20am, 9:24-10:14am, 10:18-11:08am, 11:12am-12:02pm, 12:06-12:56pm, and 1:35-2:25pm
- only one person volunteering so far (!!)

2. Terrace ES College and Career Day - Friday, March 10th 8-9:30am - for Transitional Kindergarten- 5th grade - "opportunity to speak to two separate classrooms for 25 minutes each. During your time with the classes you are encouraged to share your story- how you got into your chosen field, education requirements for the profession, a typical day on the job, and to bring visual aids, Power Points, and handouts. "

3. March 13 @ Glen Avon Elementary School 2nd-6th grade - 1 hour long (time TBA) 30 mins presentation, 30 mins insect interacting (less than 20 kids)

4. Leah Snow @UCR Entomology (tours) - March 16th, 9am, 10:30am and 12pm (3 sessions,1 hour each- insect/arthropod displays (live and pinned).

5. Diane Villanueva @UCR Entomology (tours) - March 24th 9:30am,10:45am, and 12pm (3 sessions, 1 hour tours each) - 30 mins presentation, 30 mins insect interacting

6. Sunnymead Ranch Moreno Valley - March 25th 11am-2pm - more info TBA, most likely standard outreach tabling procedure
