Please encourage promising undergraduate researchers to apply for the Barry
Goldwater Scholarship.  This national award recognizes promising sophomores
& juniors who intend to pursue STEM research careers.  In 2023 three UCR
Students were selected: *Rayaan Ayoub, Bioengineering* (Faculty Mentor: Dr.
Joshua Morgan, Bioengineering); *Peter Carney, Physics* (Faculty Mentor:
Dr. Jonathan Richardson);

*Ibrahim Maaz, Biochemistry* (Faculty Mentor: Dr. Jernej Murn,
