[Entm-beu] "Oh My and More" Display Drawer competition: deadline October 28

Happy Friday!

This is the official call for the *"Oh My and More" Display Drawer
competition*.

*Why:* 1) assemble informative and cool looking drawers that can be taken
to outreach events; our current inventory is looking a bit frayed; this
could be anything from "Oh My" drawers to more thematic displays, and 2)
fill some of the empty displays on the 3rd floor in Entomology and replaced
some outdated displays on the 2nd floor.

*Incentive:* Cash awards for 1st ($200) and 2nd ($100) *most informative
AND eye-catching display* (as determined by a top secret group of Outreach
Committee members).

*Who:* Submissions could be from individuals or from labs or student
clubs/groups associated with UCR Entomology (i.e. students in the
Entomology program or working/researching in Entomology labs, employees in
Entomology).

*How:*  We will supply the drawers and competitors can use the (mostly
unprepared) insects/arachnids in the Outreach drawers in the Museum (plus
specimens from the teaching collection), but we will not cover additional

*When: *Submit your drawer to Christiane Weirauch (Entomology 125) no later
than *Friday October 28 5PM and also fill out this google form
<https://forms.gle/VNcfLBQ2ngKXMF9b7> so we can keep track of
submissions. *Winners
will be announced during the November First Friday in the Entomology
Courtyard.
