NOW ACCEPTING SYMPOSIA PROPOSALS:
2022 Pacific Branch Meeting

Lead Your Meeting

Ready to lead your meeting? Ready to engage your Branch with new and interesting topics in entomology? Your Program Chairs, Jackie Serrano and Erin Wilson Rankin, are ready and waiting to hear your thoughts on symposia for the 2022 Pacific Branch Meeting<http://send.entsoc.org/link.cfm?r=O5dFKlVO9l9llVI_NKhUiw~~&pe=wABzp3S9BfxvXLzvLghHt4NlrzTuJFOOxnbdK5khrtprhppgGqqavSmtw_5tAHfeDjdTrn8Ct1vZMr35qLlgmA~~&t=j2myQksU6_vMcAuPgnQmTQ~~> on April 10-13, 2022. Symposium proposals are due November 22.

We hope to attract a broad range of topics in 2022, so do not hesitate to be creative when considering submitting your ideas. We are particularly seeking symposia that represent the diversity of PB member research, including systematics, urban, medical/veterinary entomology, and cross-border research.

Last year, attendees submitted many unique and interesting symposium proposals which lead to a successful virtual meeting! We are also interested in symposium submissions that highlight any of the following topics:

  * Aquatic insects and stream/fish healthy indicators
  *   Systematics and genomics
  *   Medical and veterinary entomology
  * Urban entomology and landscape ecology
  *   Science communication and policy
  *   New emerging/invasive pests
  * Use of drones in entomological research and implementation
  *   Forest entomology
  *   Molecular ecology
  * Genetic basis of complex traits
  *   Entomophagy
  *   Biocontrol
  *   Tropical Crops
  *   Cross-border research and collaborations

If you are interested in organizing a symposium on one of these (or other topics!), please contact the program chairs, Jackie Serrano<mailto:jacqueline.serrano at usda.gov> and Erin Wilson Rankin<mailto:erin.wilson at ucr.edu>, or submit your idea! We look forward to hearing from you and organizing a meeting you won’t forget!

Please include the following information in your proposal:

  *   Session title
  * Summary statement of the goal or concept, and objectives
  * Brief symposium description (50 words or less, required)
  * List of several speakers you plan to invite to participate in your symposium
  * Symposium format type (pre-recorded or live)
  * Comments for Program Organizers (not required)
  * Total time required: 2 or 4 hours
  * Organizer name(s) and contact information
