These paid positions provide students with valuable experience working in a professional environment that draws from their academic skills in writing. The students often comment on their favorable experiences and valuable professionalization, and the positions are frequently discussed in graduate school applications as well as job applications. I am contacting you today for your help in recruiting tutors for our program. The success of our 009 and WAC programs depends on qualified tutors, so the efforts we put into recruitment are important. </div><div><br></div><div>Students who serve as tutors typically work between nine and twelve hours a week. They are embedded in the classes they serve, so they attend the classes and, of course, are paid for attending the classes (about $21/hour). Tutors also receive training before and during the quarter, all of which is paid service. The application process involves a writing sample, letter of interest, grammar quiz, letter of recommendation, and an interview. We are recruiting tutors for fall of 2025, but some of the positions extend through winter and spring quarters of 2026."</div><div>
