Hello Colleagues,
I hope this finds you well. I recently sent out the almost complete list of our award-winners and honors recipients among faculty and students for 2025-2026.
But there is more good news to share.
Here, I’ve updated our awards and honors list with some important additions to close out the 2025-2026 academic year, and I’ve attached the complete list below.
I’m thrilled to present this extraordinary roster of accomplishment. In the latest additions, notably, English graduate student Sayeong Kim has been awarded the Hillary Chute Award for Best Graduate Student Paper from the Comics Studies Society. I’ve also added the list, as of June, of professional placement for graduates of the Doctoral Program in English, which demonstrates the value and impact our English doctoral graduates bring globally, from Southern California to the UK. We wish you all brilliant careers. Congratulations to:
Carolina Hernandez-Bachman, Assistant Professor of English, Saddleback College, Mission Viejo
Amanda Mocsi, Visiting Assistant Professor of English, Bates College, Lewiston Maine
David Siglos: Assistant Professor, Asian American Studies, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
Allie Wood: Assistant Professor of English, College of Du Page, Glen Ellyn, Illinois
Sang-Keun Yoo: Lecturer in English, Cambridge University, UK
Finally, this final list includes a list of honors recipients among our English BA graduates: Congratulations, one and all!
Thanks, especially to our staff, who make all of this possible!
Open the attachment for the good news, and meanwhile, have an incredible summer!
Take care,
jt

"We at UCR would like to respectfully acknowledge and recognize our responsibility to the original and current caretakers of this land, water, and air: the Cahuilla, Tongva, Luiseño, and Serrano peoples and all of their ancestors and descendants, past, present, and future. Today this meeting place is home to many Indigenous peoples from all over the world, including UCR faculty, students, and staff, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to live and work on these homelands."
