Dear Students,

I hope this message finds you well.

We are conducting a research study at UC Riverside titled:

“Caregiving and Academic Success: Examining the Dual Burdens of Minority
Students on Educational Achievement and Health Outcomes.”

The purpose of this study is to better understand the academic, financial,
and health-related challenges faced by undergraduate and graduate students
who provide care for an ill, elderly, or disabled family member, relative,
or friend—including caring for children with special needs. By learning
about students’ caregiving experiences, we aim to develop resources and
inform campus policies that better support student caregivers.

   -

You can participate whether or not you are a caregiver—both caregivers
