Dear Students,

There’s still time to enroll in English courses for summer! I want to
highlight two excellent options that can help you make progress toward your
degree while engaging with exciting, relevant material.

*ENGL 102W* prepares students for advanced study in the major by
introducing them to key theoretical approaches to reading, writing, and
thinking. In this course, you’ll explore how literature shapes and is
shaped by ideas about the world and ourselves, developing the critical and
analytical skills essential for your academic and professional journey.

Did you know that *ENGL 033* fulfills a lower-division requirement? This
class will explore how literature and media intersect in the 21st century.
You'll examine a variety of texts from poetry and novels to TikToks,
Instagram reels, and news media, and consider how information is
communicated across different platforms.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about these
courses or any courses available this summer.

Thank you,

*Elaine Chacon *(she/they)

*Undergraduate Academic Advisor *
