[English-undergrad] Are you interested in law, acting, or debate?... Join Highlander Mock Trial!

Highlander Mock Trial is a campus organization that provides you with
hands-on experience in
preparing a case and taking it to trial.

Whether you are interested in the legal profession, have a love for
performing, or are simply
looking to try something new, we have a role for you! At the beginning of
each year, we receive
a fictional case and prepare to represent the sides of prosecution and
defense.
*Attorneys *have the opportunity to direct and cross-examine witnesses,
give opening statements
and closing arguments, and argue objections in front of real judges. *Witnesses
*receive a
character that they mold to their liking and develop their acting and
improv skills. They can be
anything from the top suspect in a bank robbery to a nerdy conspiracy
theorist who still lives
with their parents. *We begin auditions in August *via Zoom in preparation
for competitions
against other schools in the fall and winter.

We focus heavily on building the skill of public speaking within our
members by encouraging
them to step outside of their comfort zone and providing them with detailed
instruction on how
to improve.

*NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!!!*
Many of our members have never even heard of Mock Trial before joining and
we are ready and
willing to teach you everything you need to know to be successful.
