Hello Hello Hello English majors!

I hope you’re well.

As part of my ENGL 33, Multimodal Literacies, this quarter I’m having digital artist, designer, maker and thinker Erik Loyer come to campus to talk about his work.

His talk will happen as part of our regularly scheduled lecture (usually online, but for this event, in-person with livestream).

ENGL 33 meets 11 - 1:50 Fridays, SO, this Friday, we’ll be meeting at 11 AM in the XCite Center for Teaching and Learning in the Rivera Library.

We have space for a few more people to attend, so I’m opening up the event to interested people.

Here’s Erik’s website:

If you’re interested in electronic literature, interactive art, games as art, digital narrative, graphic novels in digital form, and how digital art may be a way we respond intelligently and passionately to many of the issues of polarization, bias, invasion of privacy, unethical behavior, and misinformation that are plaguing contemporary digital networks and social media, then this is the talk for you!

Let me know if you would like to RSVP and I’ll do my best to include you.

"We at UCR would like to respectfully acknowledge and recognize our responsibility to the original and current caretakers of this land, water, and air: the Cahuilla, Tongva, Luiseño, and Serrano peoples and all of their ancestors and descendants, past, present, and future. Today this meeting place is home to many Indigenous peoples from all over the world, including UCR faculty, students, and staff, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to live and work on these homelands."
