It was suggested to me that the UWP lecturers might be interested in this

I'm writing to see if there might be sufficient interest, among PhD

students in English and Comparative Literature, to form a reading

group in science fiction. I'm teaching a graduate seminar in the

Spring quarter on SF history and theory. The reading group would be

excellent preparation for that class if you're thinking of taking it,

and would also be fun and intellectually exciting even if you're not.

 

My idea is to meet every 3-4 weeks to discuss a work of fiction, a

film, or a critical work. We could do this over pizza and beer. Please

do let me know if you're interested in joining such a group. I'd like

to get together sometime in early October to plan a schedule of

readings.
