Please join the Department of English for a talk by:         


Stephen Behrendt

Stephen C. Behrendt is University Professor and George Holmes Distinguished
Professor of English at the University of Nebraska, in Lincoln. He is the
author of ten books and edited collections, including /Shelley and His
Audiences/  (1989), /Reading William Blake/ (1992), and /Royal Mourning and
Regency Culture: Elegies and Memorials of Princess Charlotte/ (1997). His
new book, /British Women Poets and the Romantic Writing Community/, will be
published by Johns Hopkins University Press in 2008. In addition to many
interdisciplinary scholarly articles, he has also published over a hundred
poems, as well as three book-length collections of poetry, including most
recently /History/ (2005).


"Influence, Anxiety, and Erasure in Women's Writing: Romantic becomes
Victorian."
