Dear friends,

I'm happy to tell you that Craig Svonkin has accepted a tenure-track
Assistant Professorship in English at Metropolitan State College in Denver.
Metro State is an excitingly diverse four-year college in the heart of
downtown Denver. With 21,000 students, it has the second largest
undergraduate enrollment in the state of Colorado. Craig will be their
specialist in Children's Literature as well as one of their Americanists. He
is now completing his dissertation on "self-othering" in such figures as
Herman Melville, L. Frank Baum, Robert Lowell, and Laurie Anderson, under
the co-direction of Emory Elliott and myself.
