Assistant or Associate Professor of English 


Required: Ph.D. in English or closely related subject area required from a
U.S. accredited institution or foreign equivalent for a tenure-track
position. Desirable: Two (2) or more years of post-secondary teaching and
experience with students of ethnically diverse populations. Ph.D. with
specialization in composition and rhetoric or in literature. Candidates
wishing to teach creative writing should have appropriate publications. The
successful candidate will teach, in a multi-cultural setting, courses in
composition, literature, creative writing, and/or linguistics. The
successful candidate is expected to teach lower- and upper-level
undergraduate courses, as well as master's-level courses, in two or more of
these areas; to maintain a continuous record of scholarly activity; and to
perform university and community service. Submit a current curriculum vita;
complete contact information for three references (including fax and email,
if possible), three current letters of recommendation, evidence of
excellence in teaching (i.e., copies of peer observation reports, student
testimonials, copies of summary sheets from student evaluations), unofficial
copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and a Government of Guam
application form to Chair, English Search Committee, c/o Human Resources
