Hi all,

I'm passing on this request from Professor Maurya Simon of Creative Writing
for audience members for a series of eminent nonfiction writers who will be
doing readings. I encourage everyone to consider attending. Any and all of
these readings will serve for 280 credit for graduate students.

Best to all,

Steve Axelrod

Subject: our Nonfiction position search

Dear Steve,

I wanted to let you know that we're currently conducting a search for an
Assoc. Professor in Creative Nonfiction, and we'd be delighted if you'd like
to attend any of the events being scheduled for their visits. We've a great
short list of eminent writers, and I very much hope that faculty and
students in English will be able to attend their readings. Here's the list:
David Bradley, Rigoberto Gonzalez, Tom Lutz, Mat Johnson, and Michael
Stephens.

We're worried about not getting a respectable audience for the reading by
Prof. Bradley, since we don't have a CRWT class meeting that time that we
can bring to it (as we're doing with the other candidates), so I wondered if
you might know of anyone teaching a course related to African-American
literature who might be willing to bring their class to this event? It's
scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 10-11 am in 1500 HMNSS. I don't know if
you're familiar with Bradley's "The Chaneysville Incident," but I think it's
one of the great American post-war novels.

Best wishes,
Maurya
