I am happy to tell you that the following two colleagues have received 
the English Department’s Independent Research Award:

Terry Spaise.
Terry's article entitled, “Necrophilia and SM: The Deviant Side of 
Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” will appear in the next issue of The Journal 
of Popular Culture, Vol. 38, No. 4.

Linda Strahan.
Linda's article entitled, “There’s a Hole in the (Inspector) Bucket: 
The Victorian Police in Fact and Fiction,” will appear in the Spring 
2005 issue of CLUES.
