[EHSResearchers] Safety Orientation 2021 Training

Dear Research & Laboratory Personnel,

Earlier this week EH&S announced the new Safety Orientation eCourse training assignment for the campus community.  This required training will be assigned to all faculty, staff, affiliates, and volunteers on July 1, 2021 and will be required to be taken every three years.

However, we wanted to remind our research and laboratory personnel that if you work or supervise others who work in a laboratory or technical area<https://policy.ucop.edu/doc/3500598/LabSafetyTraining>, the required Laboratory Safety Fundamentals training will satisfy this requirement, and you do not need to take the Safety Orientation course.

If you are unsure if your Laboratory Safety Fundamentals training requirement is current, please..

  1.  Log into the UCR Learning Center<https://ucrlearning.ucr.edu/> with your NetID and Password
  2.  Select "Transcripts & Certificates"
  3.  Edit the "Date Range" to "All"
  4.  View the expiration date for "Laboratory Safety Fundamentals"
  5.  If your training certification is current, there is no action on your part until the expiration date approaches. If your training certification is expired, please take the course/refresher course as appropriate.
