Hello Colleagues (with apologies for cross-postings),



The Global Climate Leadership Council (GCLC) and the UC Sustainability Steering Committee (UCSSC) are seeking Student Representatives for the 24-25 academic year. There are positions open for both undergraduate and graduate students. The applications for these positions are available through the:

  *   UCSA (undergraduate) – See the position description<https://ucsa.org/get-involved/swc-descrip/#swc23> here. The application form can be found at the top of the page.
  *   UCGPC (graduate students) – See the position description<https://ucgpc.org/2024-25-bonnie-reiss-leading-on-climate-fellowship-apply-now/> here. The application form is at the bottom of the page.

Please note: As we requested an expedited appointment (to allow time for onboarding before the beginning of year), interested candidates should apply as soon as possible (e.g., well ahead of the generic deadline for all representative positions listed on the UCSA site).



Students serving on the GCLC/UCSSC represent student voices to provide input into systemwide climate and sustainability policy and programs. The selected students also serve as the Bonnie Reiss Leading on Climate Fellows* for Office of Sustainability at UCOP, helping implement the systemwide fellowship program. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to serve on subcommittees, support projects, and help foster an engaged cohort of student fellows around the UC system. A $5000 award is available for each position (plus travel expenses).



This year’s student representatives were Caroline Hung (UCR, graduate student) and Lekha Sapers (UCSB, undergraduate).
