Dear friends of the UCR Entomology Department,

You are invited to celebrate 111 years of Entomology at UCR with us on *May
29 and 30*. Updates and detailed program are being posted on the 111th
website <https://entomology.ucr.edu/entomologys-111th-celebration>.

*Friday May 29*

   - *4-6PM Bugfest *(plaza in front of University Theater) -- mini-Insect
   Fair incl. Touch-a-Bug and research tables similar to Riverside Insect Fair
   - *6-7:30PM Something to Buzz About: 111 years of Insect Discovery at UC
   Riverside -- Public lecture* highlighting the history of our department
   focused on agriculture (Mark Hoddle), urban entomology (Mike Rust) and
   natural systems (alumna Elizabeth Murray).
   - *after 7:30PM R*eception in the Entomology courtyard (invited guests -
   like you if you RSVP! - only)



*Saturday May 30 -- RSVP required (use QR code below or attached) --*

   - *8:30-3PM UCR Entomology: Celebrating a century of insect
science* -- *Research
   Symposium* with invited alumni speakers (incl. Kristen Michel, Jim
   Woolley & Lynn LeBeck, Amelia Lindsey, Vanessa Lopez, Jeffrey Scott); and
   speakers from the department (lightning talks)
   - *3-6PM Entomology Open House* (incl. tours of I&Q and Entomology
   Research Museum; labs will display posters etc.; Silent Auction to
   kick-start a new endowment for Outreach and Graduate Student Research)
   - *after 6PM* Reception in the UCR Botanic Gardens
