Our keynote speaker, *William Berelson *will be giving a talk titled "CaCO3 Dissolution Neutralizes CO2: From Science to Start-up". It is a great chance to learn about Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR). Below is a short description from Will: "I will present the path we?ve taken to re-discover the kinetic controls on CaCO3, what are the correct rates as a function of saturation state and why we think we?re correct. Many different lab and field experiments have given us confidence that this new formulation is correct, but what does it mean for how the ocean carbon system has behaved in the past and how it will behave in the future? I?ll address these points with some data from studies off the Costa Rican ridge and conclude with how all this science has led us to start a business aimed at neutralizing CO2 from ocean shipping." Please RSVP for the EDGE Spring Sym by *May 15th*: Google RSVP Next, please share information about applying to the *Geographer's Scholarship for Global Change Science and Sustainability* with graduate and undergraduate students! Instructions and application forms are here and due by *May 15th* at 5 pm: Undergraduate Application Form Graduate Application Form Happy Friday!
