Four UC campuses, including UCR, have co-organized a series of workshops on R, Python, OpenRefine, the Unix shell, SQL, Git/Github, Bash scripting, and more. This Software Carpentry workshop series is for University of California faculty, graduate students, post-docs, researchers, and other staff. The series is designed for novices and you do not need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented at the workshops.
