Subject: Aura Estrada Short Story Contest

Thought your faculty and students would want to know that the 2012 Boston Review Aura Estrada Fiction Contest is now accepting submissions. Also, last year’s winner, Alexandra Thom’s piece is now published in the July issue --

Boston Review is proud to announce the winner of the 2011 Aura Estrada Fiction Contest, New York artist and writer Alexandra Thom, with her first published work, “The Piano.”

Judge Samuel R. Delany writes: "This is an astonishingly moving story…Skillfully the writer has left ‘silences’ in the tale where we can read our own emotions into the spaces where they might occur." Read Thom's award-winning story online: [url]

The 2012 Aura Estrada Short Fiction Contest deadline is October 1st, 2012 — the judge this year is author Nathan Englander. Entries are now being accepted.

The winning author will receive $1,500 and have his or her work published in Boston Review. First runner-up will be published in a following issue, and second runner-up will be published at the Boston Review Web site. Find complete details and submit your work:
