English Faculty Needed
Two (2) Positions Available

Faculty, English & Developmental English (#1380)
Location: LSC-North Harris (Greenspoint Center)
Position Summary:  Provides learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the Lone Star College System and the community. Responsibilities include learning facilitation, personal and professional development, and institutional and community service. Primary functions are to plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.
Required Qualifications:  Master’s degree in English, literature, creative writing or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in English, literature, or creative writing.  LSC-Online certification or a commitment to obtain certification through Lone Star College System within 12 months of employment.
Salary:  Starting salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience. This is a 9 or 10.5 month work schedule.  Position begins Fall 2011. Position will be located at LSC-Victory Center.
 
Assistant Professor, Developmental English (Temporary/Full-Time/Grant-Funded) (2 positions) (#1456)
Location:  LSC-Montgomery
Position Summary:  Provides the learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community. The faculty member's role encompasses the general areas of learning facilitation, personal and professional development, and institutional and community service. Primary responsibilities are to plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.
Required Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree with a major or minor in English, literature, creative writing or in a related field such as education, reading, writing, linguistics, or language arts; or Master’s Degree in English, literature, creative writing or in a related field such as education, reading, writing, linguistics, or language arts; or Bachelor’s degree with related teaching or training experience in one or more of the above mentioned fields.
Salary:  Commensurate with qualifications.  This is a temporary, full-time grant-funded position starting  August 2011, ending May 2012.
