Vanessa Hua has a piece coming out in Lives!  She wrote it after travelling to China on a UCR grad student research grant, which is great.  Also a new story coming out.  All good news for a colleague!

Other good news -- my story, "Harte Lake" -- about the widowed solo hiker trapped in a snowstorm -- will appear in the summer issue of Hopkins Review http://www.press.jhu.edu/journals/the_hopkins_review/     Thanks again for providing your input on the story!
