This is a very worthwhile program. I believe that one of our alumni, Brian Oglesby, participated last year, and found that it opened a number of doors for him.

Subject: Call for WordBRIDGE 2011 Applications

Dear Supporters of Playwriting everywhere:

WordBRIDGE 2011 applications are OPEN through December 31, 2010!

WordBRIDGE offers an opportunity for emerging playwrights to develop their script and ideas in a supportive, generous and collaborative environment with professional artists and resources. WordBRIDGE Playwrights Laboratory will convene June 2011 for our fifteenth laboratory.

WordBRIDGE offers each playwright a two-week development process with a collaborative team of professional artists--from dramaturgs, psychologists, and directors to designers, storytellers, scientists, and musicians—to refine the creative vision that first sparked their full-length plays.

We need your help.

First and foremost, please encourage your best students to apply for this superb opportunity at www.wordbridge.org.

Second, you can nominate playwrights by uploading a brief nomination letter that details the playwright’s vision and potential, aptitude for collaboration, and desire to work in a development laboratory.

WordBRIDGE accepts applications and full-length scripts from any pre-professional playwright. There is no restriction on genre or length. We will provide room and board, as well as travel assistance, to all playwrights accepted into the program.

To help with this endeavor, we'd love you to pass this email along to playwrights that may be interested. Thank you in advance for helping us spread the word.

Your letters of nomination can be easily uploaded through our website: www.wordbridge.org. Playwrights should also visit the website to complete the online application, upload their script into our secure server, and read about last year’s workshop. The deadline for completed applications is DECEMBER 31, 2010.

If you have any questions please email Artistic Director, David White at dave at wordbridge.org. We very much look forward to hearing from you and your nominated playwrights. Thank you in advance for your help and support.

Sincerely,

Lauren Halvorsen
Artistic Associate, WordBRIDGE

P.S. WordBRIDGE is competing in the Pepsi Refresh Campaign for a $50,000 grant. If you want to help us continue supporting emerging playwrights, go to www.refresheverything.com/supportwordbridge and vote everyday until December. Creating an account is easy and Pepsi has been good about not spamming. Thanks!
