Subject: David Sedaris at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside

Hi there!

My name is Chelsea Kurnick and I'm the Editor in Chief of this year's
Mosaic. Mosaic was contacted by David Sedaris' publicist with a promotional
offer. Tulasi Love and I were sent promotional materials to put up around
campus and to give to students about the author's upcoming show at the Fox
Performing Arts Center.

We have one pair of tickets to give away (apparently of high value--I just
checked the website and the tickets range from $37.50 - $65 each) and we are
planning on doing this giveaway at our Thursday night open mic, one week
prior to the show. Our weekly open mic takes place at the Coffee Bean and
Tea Leaf on campus from 8pm-10pm on Thursdays. The tickets will be given
away on April 29th. Mr. Sedaris' show is also on a Thursday evening, so we
will be changing the reading to an earlier time May 6th.

Mr. Sedaris' publicist and Mosaic would greatly appreciate it if you could
announce the author's visit to Riverside in your classes. Interested
students may send their names, email addresses and phone numbers to this
email address with the subject DAVID SEDARIS and they will be entered into
the drawing. To be eligible for the tickets, the student must be present at
the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf reading on April 29th.

If there is room in your curriculum to have the students read one of his
stories, that would probably stir interest in his show. If there is a good
turnout, it will probably encourage the new venue to bring more writers to
downtown Riverside.

If interested, Tulasi or I can bring bookmarks and/or posters to your class.
We have a lot of bookmarks.

Attached is a flyer for the open mic series. The Mosaic website can be
found at www.mosaic.ucr.edu . Mosaic is a group on Facebook, which can be
found by searching "Mosaic. It's a journal of literature and art." The Fox
PAC's page about David Sedaris can be found at
http://www.foxriversidelive.com/shows/david-sedaris.html .

Mosaic is going to the printer this week. Our launch party will take place
in mid-May. We're so excited about this issue-- it's 200 pages long and I
don't hesitate to call it one of the best in Mosaic's 51 year history.

Thank you for your time.
