Subject: Fwd: Job opening at Poets & Writers, Inc.

The position of Information Services Associate (I believe that will be the
title) has opened up at P&W, effective immediately. My good friend and
coworker, Francheska, has left to pursue her heart and other poetic things
in Spain (this explanation isn't doing her brave and exciting decision
justice), leaving P&W--the Inc. side, not the magazine, though there are
duties that span the two--without an outreach person. That is, the job
entails providing advice to writers who send letters or e-mail or call with
questions (there are established responses for many inquiries), maintaining
the databases of writers <http://www.pw.org/directory/featured>, lit
mags<http://www.pw.org/literary_magazines?apage=*>,
and small presses <http://www.pw.org/small_presses?apage=*>, and developing
new databases with Mary Gannon, who is a fantastic boss. There are other
duties, but the job is low-stress, from what I've observed. I'm not in the
know about the starting salary, but I do know that we have medical, vision,
and dental benefits. It's full-time, too.

The workplace is in Lower Manhattan (90 Broad Street), near most imaginable
trains.
