The UC Regents decided last week to move their vote on tuition hikes to the MORNING OF
THE 18TH during their 10:45am session (instead of the 19th as they
originally planned).

They are afraid of the power of students, workers and faculty coming
together to protest 32% tuition hikes, layoffs, furloughs and cuts to
education.

This is a message from one of the UCLA students helping put together a crisis fest (speakers, performers, poets, musicians) taking place tomorrow night:

a general call for everyone who cares about this issue to be at COVEL
COMMONS, WEDNESDAY THE 18TH AT 8AM TO SHUT THIS MEETING DOWN.

This
is our chance to make sure the Regents don't raise tuition by 32%. Tell
everyone you know, wake up early for one day in your life, drink a ton
of coffee, shut the meeting down, take a siesta and then get ready for
Crisis Fest, that night!

CRISIS FEST WILL NOT BUDGE; WEDNESDAY NOV 18 @ 5PM TO ALL NIGHT.

At
Crisis Fest, you will see all the support the Regents are afraid of
when over 1000 students and workers expected from around the UC System
arrive to celebrate and camp at Pauley Pavillion.

And then we'll shut down the meeting the next morning!

This is no time for fear. Leave that to the Regents. This is a time for joy celebration and protest!

Crisis Fest will not budge, Crisis Fest will not end!

Any one interested in attending? I WILL BE DRIVING OUT THERE TOMORROW FROM UCR....at 3:00pm, coming back at around 9-10pm....please email me if you want to come with me!!

THIS IS IMPORTANT TO OUR EDUCATION, DEPARTMENT, AND TO THE FUTURE GENERATIONS OF UC STUDENTS, FACULTY, and WORKERS....

yours truly,
