Chris Abani has won a 2009 John Simon Guggenheim Foundation  
fellowship in fiction.  Congratulations!!

Abain is the third Creative Writing faculty member to have garnered  
this fellowship.  Prior winners were Susan Straight for fiction in  
1997 and Christopher Buckley in poetry in 2007.
