Assistant Professor of Theatre, Theatre Department

The University of La Verne invites applicants for a full-time,
tenure-track, academic year (10 month), faculty appointment in
the College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Theatre Arts.
The duties of this position include directing plays for the
department, teaching directing, playwriting, and
screenwriting, theatre history, stage management and oral
communication, and will be expected to carry some
administrative responsibilities.

This position requires a Ph.D. or MFA with directing and
writing emphasis, college teaching experience, and
professional directing credits. Extensive professional
experience in film and television industries, particularly at
major studios and production companies, extensive first-hand
knowledge of local entertainment industry professional
practices, and administrative experience are desirable.

The hiring range for this position is dependent upon
qualifications and departmental equity. Benefits of employment
include a comprehensive health and welfare plan, tuition
remission program for employee, spouse, and dependent
children, and a generous 10% contribution to the University’s
